1. Install SnapGleam
Install SnapGleam from the Chrome Web Store. Pin the extension to the toolbar if you want faster access.
2. Choose the mode that fits
Area
Drag over the region you need. If the selection must extend beyond the current viewport, continue the area capture while scrolling.
Full Page
Use Full Page when you need the whole webpage. Wait for the page to finish loading first, especially if it contains lazy-loaded media.
Element
Use Element for a card, article block, panel, chart container, or other clearly defined page component.
Visible
Use Visible when the current viewport is exactly what you want.
3. Enable local HTML when needed
- Open Chrome’s Extensions page.
- Open SnapGleam’s extension details.
- Enable Allow access to file URLs.
- Reload the local HTML page.
- Start the capture you need.
file:// pages until you explicitly enable that permission.4. Protected pages
Chrome prevents extensions from injecting into certain browser-controlled pages, including many chrome:// pages and protected store pages. SnapGleam does not attempt to bypass those browser security restrictions.
5. If a long capture looks wrong
- Wait for fonts, images, and dynamic content to settle.
- Try again at 100% browser zoom.
- Close sticky overlays when possible.
- Avoid resizing the window or switching tabs during a long capture.
- If a problem repeats, include the page type and capture mode in your support message.
