1. Scope
This policy explains how RANURANU handles information in connection with the FootageMark Chrome extension and FootageMark product pages. It does not replace the privacy policies of third-party video platforms, Chrome, or infrastructure providers you use separately.
2. Information the extension handles
To provide its user-facing purpose, FootageMark may handle information associated with the recorded video and the workspace you create, including:
- the source page URL and source identity;
- video or page metadata used for the handoff, such as source title, creator/channel name when available, and duration;
- current media playback position and the In/Out timestamps you capture;
- project names, clip types, optional notes, clip order, and related timestamps;
- data contained in a JSON backup you intentionally import or export.
Chrome Web Store policy treats website content and browsing activity as user data even when handled locally, so this policy describes that local processing explicitly.
3. Where extension data is stored
FootageMark v1.0.0 stores its working project data in chrome.storage.local on the user’s device. The extension does not send this project or clip data to a FootageMark or RANURANU backend because v1.0.0 does not have one.
4. Supported-site access
The release build has content-script access only on the supported recorded-video domains used by the v1.0.0 integrations: YouTube, Vimeo, and Rumble. It does not request broad access to every website. Access is used to identify a compatible recorded-video source and read the media state needed for range capture and source context.

6. Data we do not intentionally collect through the extension
- No RANURANU or FootageMark account information.
- No advertising identifiers.
- No analytics or behavioral tracking events.
- No payment information.
- No AI prompts or AI service requests.
- No remote-hosted executable code.
- No video-media file uploads to RANURANU.
7. Sharing, sale, and advertising
RANURANU does not sell FootageMark extension user data. v1.0.0 does not transfer project/clip data to advertising networks, data brokers, analytics vendors, or AI providers. The extension does not use browsing activity for personalized advertising.
8. Chrome Web Store Limited Use
FootageMark’s use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data handled through Chrome extension capabilities is used only to provide or improve FootageMark’s disclosed user-facing purpose and related operational needs.
9. Data retention and deletion
Local project data remains in the extension’s local storage until it is deleted through the product, cleared through browser/extension storage controls, or otherwise removed by the user’s browser environment. JSON backups you export are files under your control and remain wherever you save them until you delete them.
10. Product website and contact messages
The FootageMark product pages are hosted as part of ranuranu.com. At the effective date above, these product pages do not intentionally load RANURANU-controlled advertising or analytics scripts. Hosting, network, browser, or security providers may process standard technical request data such as IP addresses, request headers, or security logs under their own roles and policies.
If you email contact@ranuranu.com, RANURANU receives the information you choose to include in that message and uses it to respond to support, privacy, product, or legal inquiries. Do not send confidential material unless it is necessary and you intend to share it.
11. Children
FootageMark is a general productivity/research utility and is not designed or marketed as a child-directed service. RANURANU does not knowingly use the extension to collect children’s personal information through a backend because FootageMark v1.0.0 has no such backend.
12. Changes to this policy
If FootageMark’s data practices materially change — for example, if a future version introduces cloud sync, analytics, accounts, payments, or new categories of data handling — this policy and any required in-product or Chrome Web Store disclosures should be updated to match the actual behavior before or when those changes are introduced.
